Growing up on the Sunshine Coast was a great upbringing. It’s the reason I still live here today. My interest in fruit and vegetables came during my first job as a farm hand at age 13 on a strawberry and cherry tomato farm, every weekend I would ride my bike there and back performing farm duties.

Add to this, that I got a job at a local fruit shop which at age 15 I was running and managing on Sunday’s which began my life in fruit and vegetables.

During the off season, i would work for a pineapple and banana farmer and eventually my brother and I planted pineapples and had our own crop of pineapples.

A year and a half later, I was 17, finishing school and also coming home early 2 days per week to pick, pack and send our produce off to the Sydney markets where we achieved top of the market on all consignments.

Graduated from high school and then bought a fruit shop in Caloundra and expanded into Coolum before selling those and opening a new shop in Maroochydore which was successful and still operates today.

byAfter leaving the field for many years, we started a wholesale business some 10 years later where the opportunity to operate a pop up fruit market on a weekend arose.  This went on for some months and then we had an opportunity to open a shop next to where the pop up shop was so we took this opportunity with both hands and ran with it.

From its inception 7 years ago “Daniel Street” fruit and vegetable warehouse has been a fresh fruit haven for the Caloundra area offering the freshest of fruit and vegetables to the local community.

We have since diversified a lot from the original fruit and vegetables we offered to include natural, organic, and gluten free and vegan options for all the local area.

Over the years I have seen a lot of changes to payment methods from collecting my yellow payslip with cash in it every week from cash to eftpos in retailing , payWave and finally I can see the trend towards a cashless society so I am proud to say that we are accepting bankcoin as our preferred method of payment – it’s safe and secure.
